Version 1.26.6 of the VA Compensation Calculator is now available on the App Store. This is a big update — new tools, new tracking, new privacy features, and a refreshed layout.

Claim Tracker
Track upcoming C&P exams, hearings, deadlines, and decision dates in one place, with optional reminders so you don’t miss a date. Everything stays on your device — no calendar sync or external sharing.
What If? Scenario Builder
Interactively explore how rating changes affect your combined rating and monthly compensation without touching your saved data. Bump a percentage up or down, add a hypothetical condition, and see the impact in real time.
38 CFR Diagnostic Codes
A searchable in-app reference covering ~300 diagnostic codes across 15 body systems. When adding a disability, the diagnostic-code search fills the name and suggests common ratings (tinnitus, for example, auto-fills at 10%).
TDIU Support
New schedular Eligibility Check for Total Disability based on Individual Unemployability. A Settings toggle pays compensation at the 100% rate when TDIU is granted, so your monthly estimate reflects what you’ll actually receive.
Save as PDF
Export your Compensation Breakdown or Backpay results as a styled PDF — handy for sharing with a VSO, an attorney, or for your own records.
Notes per Disability
Capture effective dates, decision letter references, or symptom history alongside each disability entry. Useful for keeping context in one place when you have a complex history.
Privacy & Security
- Biometric lock — optionally require Face ID or Touch ID to open the app.
- Saved data is now encrypted while your device is locked (iOS Complete File Protection).
Dark Mode
System / Light / Dark, selectable in Settings → Appearance.
Refreshed Layout
- Help (?) and Settings (gear) icons now live in the top-right of every screen for one-tap access.
- A dedicated Help screen consolidates How to Use, What’s New, Support & Community, Rate & Review, and Tip Jar.
- A new Calculators & References section on the main screen gathers the Backpay Calculator, Pay Date Predictor, Combined Ratings Table, Healthcare Priority Group, Future COLA Estimator, and CRDP / CRSC alongside the new tools.
- The Disabilities screen now has a search bar and new sort options.
- A quick orientation sheet appears on first launch and after this update so the new layout is easy to find your way around.
Tip Jar
Four optional tip tiers — $2 / $5 / $10 / $20 — if you’d like to support development. The app stays free and ad-free forever, and tipping unlocks no features.
Refinements
- Backpay now accepts future dates for projecting upcoming retroactive pay.
- Sorting the Disabilities list no longer reorders your saved data.
- Backpay screen reworded for clarity.
- Various small UI improvements and bug fixes.
As always, all data remains stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to external servers. The new biometric lock and on-device encryption are entirely user-controlled — nothing leaves the app without your action.
